We are excited to host our second Heritage Chorale Choral Workshop on October 22, 2011! The Choral Workshop is designed to increase our individual and ensemble singing skills with a specific focus on the November concert music, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang. For the morning session, clinician Brian O’Connell plans to address several of the following:
- technical vocalization (posture, breathing, etc.)
- ensemble considerations (matching vowels, blending, listening skills, etc.)
- musicianship (group and individual intonation and rhythmic integrity)
- achieving artistry (phrasing, word stresses, etc.)
In the early afternoon, Brian will help us synthesize the newly-acquired techniques into a rehearsal of Lobgesang under John Finney’s direction. Brian will return to our regular October 25th rehearsal for follow-up work.
